Rebecca Hoang
Hello New York State FBLA! My name is Rebecca Hoang and I am extremely excited to serve as your 2026-2027 State Reporter. I am a rising senior at T. R. Proctor High School and I am grateful for this opportunity to contribute to the organization that has taught me so much since my first year of high school.
My FBLA journey began during my freshman year, and since then, it has become one of the most meaningful parts of my high school experience. I have proudly served as my chapter’s Treasurer, POW Chairperson, and now President. Through these leadership roles, I have worked to strengthen our chapter by improving recruitment efforts, organizing fundraisers, and creating opportunities for members to become more involved. I also discovered a passion for using creativity to promote our chapter by designing posters, graphics, and promotional materials that helped communicate events. Beyond the projects and competitions, the friendships and connections I built with members across New York showed me how powerful the FBLA community can be. Those experiences inspired me to run for state office so I could expand my service beyond my local chapter.
As your State Reporter, my goal is to strengthen communication and foster a more engaging, connected FBLA community across New York. I hope to make our state newsletter, the FBLA Express, a resource that members genuinely look forward to reading by featuring chapter spotlights, member achievements, leadership tips, competitive event resources, and opportunities to get involved. I also plan to use our social media platforms to provide timely updates on important deadlines, state events, and officer initiatives, while sharing content that celebrates the accomplishments of members from every region of our state. By doing so, I hope to encourage greater participation and help every member feel connected to the larger New York FBLA community, providing the same sense of community that FBLA has given me.
When I am not in a blazer, you will find me involved in various activities in and out of school. I currently serve as the Treasurer of my school’s Art Club and President of the Mathletics club. I am also a math tutor, altar server, volunteer, and a member of Upward Bound. Outside of school, I worked as a nurse tech aide and will be starting an internship at a pediatrician’s office this summer. I also love playing the electric guitar, reading, cooking, learning new languages, and making art. You won’t catch me without my sketchbook!
I am looking forward to working with the state officer team, Board of Trustees, and members across New York to make NYS FBLA the best it can be. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at reporter@nysfbla.org or reach me at @fbla.rebecca on Instagram. Let’s work hard to make this year the best New York FBLA has seen!
