Good Morning and welcome to a new FBLA year!
If you went back to school last week or this week, I hope everyone is having a great start to the 26-27 school year!
For those who are not familiar with our FBLA adviser E-Blasts, this is our way of communicating information as it becomes available throughout the year. If you miss an e-blast, they will also be posted on the state website at www.nysfbla.org. All of our important documents, forms, and updates will also be posted on the state website throughout the year.
Currently, the state website home page has NYS FBLA’s calendar of deadline dates, which have all changed from previous years due to our SLC now being the second week of March 2027.The home page also has the state and national FBLA logos and themes for the year
Also on the website is this years Program of Work (POW), the first issue of the FBLA Express, the list/bios of the 26-27 State Officers, the Adviser Responsibilities Document,
the Student Code of Conduct, the FBLA Dress Code and the NYS FBLA State Handbook.
Still being updated are the District pages, the State Competitive Event Guidelines and information related to the 2027 SLC, and the 2026-2027 NYS FBLA Honor Society.
The first form I would like to draw your attention to is the NYS FBLA Intent to Roster form – a link to it is below. While there is no specific deadline date stated to submit this form – I would appreciate it if you could complete and submit the form by Friday, September 25- so I can update our adviser/chapter email list – especially if there are new advisers that need to be added or contact info that needs to be updated.

Also, you should have already started to receive Adviser Updates from the national FBLA office. These emails will provide updates regarding national FBLA programs, deadlines, etc. Please keep an eye out for those emails as well.

This will also be posted on the State website. This mailing contains rates, deadline dates and registration forms (however, please note – the registration forms are for your use in working out the details of your chapter’s attendance – you will have to transfer that data to the online forms and submit the online forms by the published deadlines. The online registration forms will not be available after 11:59pm on the designated deadline dates.

The National FBLA Champion Chapter Program is in full swing! This is a friendly reminder that the Summer Starter submission deadline is September 24. Please note that the system does not accept late entries, so it is important advisers plan accordingly. We have been asked by the National FBLA to remind advisers in our state to submit entries as they are completed rather than waiting until the last minute. Submitting throughout the process helps ensure that all entries are received successfully and avoids any unexpected issues close to the deadline. Thank you for your support in helping everyone meet the deadline and complete their submissions on time.The link to the description and guidelines for Chapter Champion Challenge is below. Please review with your chapter members in 2026 we had a total of 8 chapters receive either Gold, Silver or Bronze level and they received award banners to display in their school. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE MULTIPLE “SEASONS” IN THIS PROGRAM

The activities of Champion Chapter Challenge are a great way to engage students in learning more about FBLA’s goals, activities and programs. This program runs throughout the year with different time periods and point levels.
New York State FBLA Program of Work (POW)
Another program of activities you will want to share with your members is the NYS FBLA Program of Work (POW).There are 4 areas of activities: Membership; Community Service, Executive, and Career Development. Each area contains 3 activities your members can participate in and earn ribbons for (ribbons are issued to approved recipients who attend the State Leadership Conference in March 2027). All submissions for any POW activity must be made by 11:59pm on 1/15/2027 in order to be eligible for ribbons, but they can be uploaded as they are completed throughout the year. NYS FBLA – New York State Future Business Leaders of America and click on the Program of Work button at the top of the homepage and you will be able to view all the Program of work activities students can work on. The first activity ALL chapters can participate in easily right now is the Earlybird Membership activity under the Membership POW area. The chapter adviser can register 5 members and pay their dues by
October 31, 2026- all members who attend the 2027 SLC will receive an Earlybird ribbon (not just the 5 members who were dues paid by 10/31 – since this activity is a chapter activity, not an individual one).
