March Update
Greetings New York FBLA! February was an exciting and impactful month as District 3S proudly hosted the Spring District Meeting. It was incredible to see members come together for a day filled with competition, leadership development, and connection. The energy, professionalism, and school spirit truly reflected the strength of our district.
From welcoming chapters to celebrating competitive event participants, SDM was a meaningful opportunity for members to grow, network, and prepare for the next level of competition. I also worked on highlighting the best moments from the event through social media and district communications so we can continue celebrating your achievements and dedication.
February Update
Greetings New York FBLA! January was a month of creativity, collaboration, and conference preparation as we moved into an exciting and busy season. The state officer team and I have been working behind the scenes to develop meaningful opportunities that support your growth in leadership, professionalism, and career readiness.
This month, I continued collaborating with the Career Committee to plan social media content and POW updates so members can stay informed, motivated, and engaged. I also helped launch and support the Career and College Readiness Council, where we discussed goals centered on college preparation, professional skills, and resources that will help members feel more confident as they plan for life after high school.
January Update
Greetings New York FBLA! This has been a month of reflection, progress, and momentum as I continue serving as your District 3S State Vice President. As chapters prepare for the busy months ahead, I’ve focused on strengthening communication, creating helpful tools for members, and supporting upcoming district events.
This month, I continued collaborating with the Career Committee — planning social media updates and coordinating next steps so members can stay engaged with POW challenges. I also worked on developing district communications, including website updates, reports, and an FBLA Express article that highlights the excitement and leadership within District 3S. Another key project this month was organizing district information and helping update our District 3S directory to support stronger communication across our region.
December was also an important month for Spring District Meeting preparation. I helped finalize our SDM registration form, connect with advisers, and organize materials so chapters can easily register and begin planning to attend. I’m so grateful for the enthusiasm and collaboration from advisers and members as we bring this event to life.
As we begin the new year, I’m inspired by the dedication and energy you continue to bring to your chapters. Whether you’re preparing for competitive events, stepping into leadership roles, or building your business skills, every effort contributes to the strength of New York FBLA. I can’t wait for everything the coming months will bring — especially seeing many of you at SDM!

December Update
Hello New York FBLA! November has been a month of creativity, engagement, and exciting progress as I continue serving as your District 3S State Vice President. With chapters diving deeper into the year, I’ve been focused on bringing members more helpful resources and opportunities to stay involved.
One of my favorite projects this month was creating a series of Career Committee social media posts that break down each POW challenge. Each one highlights what the challenge is about, offers simple tips on how to do well, and gives you a clearer sense of what to look for as you participate. They were designed using the FBLA brand kit to keep things polished, accessible, and easy for members to reference. I also worked on finalizing and distributing our new District 3S membership recruitment brochures. These were shared with chapters across the district and presented to members as a guide to the many ways you can get involved—whether you’re exploring competitive events, leadership roles, or community engagement opportunities. Seeing members flip through and use them has been such a rewarding part of the month.
Looking ahead, planning for our Spring District Meeting (SDM) is officially underway. After Thanksgiving break, we’ll begin shaping workshops, selecting speakers, and building an event experience that strengthens connection, leadership, and collaboration for every member in District 3S. I can’t wait to share more details soon!
As November comes to a close, I’m inspired by the enthusiasm you continue to bring to your chapters and communities. From embracing new resources to preparing for upcoming events, every step reflects the leadership and dedication that make New York FBLA so strong. I’m excited for everything December has in store!

November Update
Hello New York FBLA! September has been a month of organization, preparation, and exciting momentum as I continue to serve as your District 3S State Vice President. With FDM now behind us, I want to extend a huge thank-you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. Your energy, participation, and dedication set the foundation for an inspiring year ahead.
For those who couldn’t attend, FDM was an incredible day filled with engaging workshops, leadership activities, and collaboration among chapters across the state. I’m also excited to officially introduce our 2024–2025 District 3S Officer Team: Treasurer Parker Philip, Secretary Tristan Boyd, Reporter Arden Demasi, Historian Vera Farrell, and Media Specialist Zoe Zaumeyer. Each officer brings unique strengths and enthusiasm to the team, and together, we’re committed to creating a year full of growth, connection, and opportunity for all District 3S members.
Looking ahead, our district newsletter will be released on November 15, featuring FDM highlights, upcoming events, and helpful chapter resources.
As September comes to a close, I’m proud of the progress we’ve made together. From statewide collaboration to district initiatives, each step has brought us closer to an engaging and impactful year ahead. I can’t wait to see the energy and leadership our members continue to bring to the table!

October Update
Greetings New York FBLA! September has been a month of organization, preparation, and exciting momentum as I continue to serve as your District 3S State Vice President. With FDM quickly approaching, I’ve focused on turning ideas into action and ensuring our district is ready for a strong start to the year.
This month, I created a “Welcome Back” newsletter to share upcoming events and committee updates for our district, which you can view on this page. I also revised and updated our member recruitment/retention brochure, which has been sent out to your chapters to help strengthen outreach and attract new members. In addition, we are reintroducing the “Member of the Month” program to highlight and celebrate outstanding members from 3S.
My main priority this month was preparing for FDM, where we already have six confirmed workshop presenters. The registration packet, which includes all the key information about the event, has been distributed to your chapter advisers, and I’m excited to see many of you there!

September Update
Hello New York FBLA! August has been a month of creativity, preparation, and exciting progress as I continue to grow into my role as District 3S State Vice President. With the school year approaching, I’ve been focused on laying the foundation for a year full of opportunities, involvement, and growth.
This month, I collaborated with my fellow officers in committee meetings, helped develop social media content, and contributed to discussions about state apparel. For District 3S, I created a recruitment brochure and launched the “Member of the Month” program to showcase the benefits of FBLA and celebrate student dedication. A major focus was preparing for the Fall District Meeting (FDM). I worked on Save the Date materials, brainstormed workshops, and contributed to building a program that will be meaningful and fun. I also continued posting involvement tips and updates to connect with members and build anticipation.
As August wraps up, I’m proud of the progress made and energized for the months ahead. With FDM on the horizon and new initiatives ready to launch, I’m confident this year will be one of the most impactful yet for New York FBLA.

August Update
Hello New York FBLA! My name is Lillian Zmuda, and I am your District 3S State Vice President for
the 2025-2026 year. I am extremely excited and honored to serve on the State Officer team and
collaborate with every district and chapter alike.
Our weeklong State Officer Training (SOT) was held in July in Greenwich, New York. This training helped set up State Officers for the amazing year to come. Throughout our time at SOT, we grew as people and professionals. Due to our tenacious efforts, we have ensured that NYS FBLA will be adequately and successfully represented. Some of the projects we worked on include the State Charity Proposal (the Ronald McDonald House Charities), Program of Work, and the ways in which we as a State Officer team can best serve you. Each of these discussions were carefully thought-out and tailored to what you, members of NYS FBLA, deserve as hardworking members. Thanks to this detailed training session, I’m confident in our ability, as the State Officer team, to be successful this FBLA year.
As the school year nears, members, chapters, and districts all have new opportunities within FBLA. With this new FBLA year approaching, there is more room for growth, involvement, and opportunity for everyone in NYS. One of my main goals is to create a brochure for new and incoming members. This brochure will be a way for potentially new members to understand FBLA, learn how to be involved, and get excited to join not only the organization but all the many events FBLA has to offer. Aside from this, I am also ready to host successful and meaningful FDM and SDM conferences. I plan on doing this by making sure various fun workshops take place, while also discussing more ways to get involved such as Program of Work, beginning the journey to becoming a State Officer, etc.
I am truly overjoyed to collaborate with NYS FBLA and ensure that we raise the bar for success throughout the state. I have a feeling this will be the best year yet!
