February Update
Greetings New York State FBLA,

I’d like to start this month by saying it is OFFICIALLY less than 2 months until our Annual State Leadership Conference (SLC)!!!

I would like to thank all participants who attended the 2023-2024 Spring District Meeting with me this previous February 9th. It was my pleasure working with and getting to know all of you. I would like to congratulate any and all participants who will be proceeding to the States Conference in April, good luck!!

I hope you all had a very cheerful and loving Valentine’s Day this previous month. Use the luck of the Irish throughout the month of March, especially while studying for your state competitions. This year is already flying by, States will be here before you know it.

February 15th was the deadline for all Program of Work submissions. Remember that all participants, even if you do not win, will receive a ribbon and the top three of each event have the chance to win plaques.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi, please reach out to my email at svp9@snyfbla.org!!

January Update
I hope your New Years are filled with joy, as well as studying for districts and states. 2024 brings many exciting events, starting with Districts, States, the Spring District Meeting, as well as the January Joint Meeting.

Throughout January and February, your chapters should complete the district tests. Based on your grades on these tests, you have the opportunity to attend states at the Rochester Convention Center. Here you will be able to meet hundreds of other FBLA members throughout the state, this will take place in April.

The Spring District Meeting will be here before you know it. Here you will be able to watch slideshows, listen to presentations, as well as learn essential skills and information.

Let this year be your year through FBLA! Check out my newsletter to stay in touch with NYS FBLA through our website. If you have any questions or suggestions, or if you would just like to say hello, please reach out through my emai: svp9@nysfbla.org

December Update
Greetings New York State FBLA!  I hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year with your friends and family. Hopefully 2024 brings more exciting experiences into the FBLA world.

District 9 fortunately just had our Fall District Meeting this previous October, which turned out a great success. The meeting provides members with the opportunity to get to know the FBLA community better. Throughout the conference, members attended workshops, listened to guest speakers, and learned new key business skills. I want to encourage chapters to start thinking about potential future State Officers and investigate the application process. This is an amazing opportunity for members to get involved in FBLA and gain leadership experience.

Within the remainder of the year, we still have Districts, the Spring District Meeting, as well as State Leadership Conference. These events are amazing opportunities for FBLA members to get more involved and further learn about their communities.

Check out my newsletter to stay in touch with NYS FBLA through our website. If you have any questions or suggestions, or if you would just like to say hello, please reach out through my email; svp9@nysfbla.org.

October Update
Greetings New York State FBLA,

Hopefully, you have had an enjoyable October and a wonderful Halloween with friends and family. By now your chapters should have received an invitation letter to the District 9 Fall District Meeting. This event will be taking place at Byrant and Stratton University in Syracuse NY, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Here you will meet members from all over the district, listen to guest speakers, and engage in workshops.

Additionally, I know that many chapters have resumed their meetings and I hope that they are going amazing. If your chapter is ever looking for new ideas to incorporate into your meetings take a look at the program of work and start completing them with your chapter. Also, if you are looking for more ways to get involved or gain leadership positions, applying for a State Council position is a great way to accomplish this. The deadline for that application is November 11, 2023.

My best wishes to you and your chapter at the conference, as this is a great opportunity to know FBLA better and network with students from around the county.
